SNOW!

In Chicago, snow in the winter is no big deal and snow flurries like the ones we saw in Sugar Land last night are not even worth a mention. Well, this isn't Chicago, so forgive us if we get a little excited.

IT SNOWED! IT SNOWED IN SUGAR LAND! IT SNOWED! IT STUCK TO OUR ROOF! IT STUCK TO THE CAR! WE COULD TOUCH IT AND FEEL IT AND (see photo above) WE COULD EVEN TASTE IT!

Ok. We're done now.

Better to Give Than to Receive ... A Used Toothbrush

Our school district is holding a toiletry drive for disadvantaged students and their families, and each class was asked to bring a certain type of item. The kindergarten classes were asked to bring dental hygiene items such as toothbrushes and toothpaste. What could go wrong?

Got a call last night from a friend whose son is in my daughter's kindergarten class ... do I have the teacher's home phone number? Apparently, my friend's son decided he could spare his very own toothbrush and toothpaste and gave it to "poor kids." Without his mom knowing, he had put his toothbrush and toothpaste that he had used that morning in a baggie and brought them to school ... and donated them! It wasn't until he got home that his mom had realized what happened.

Not sure if the teacher found the (knowing boys) gently used toothbrush/toothpaste donation, but we think the thought was too sweet!

Unless, of course, this was all a ploy to get out of toothbrushing. If that's the case, I fear my fourth-grader is considering donating his very own soap, towels, toothbrush, toothpaste and everything else he uses (under much protest) to get clean. I'll have to do a search tomorrow, just like those wacky Patsy drug commercials.
